If you chose to buy your athlete their own equipment to use that is GREAT! Keep in mind Little League has requirements on Helmets and Bats. We will cover those requirements below, but if you have ANY questions, please email @ [email protected] us BEFORE you buy. We'd hate to see you kiddo fall in love with their new Bat only to find out they cant use it and need a different one!
Bats: As of January 1, 2018, the new USA Baseball Bat Standard was implemented. USA Baseball Standard. Bats must be used in the Little League Major Baseball Division and below. Simple put, a bat must have the USA Baseball decal on it *Tee-Ball Bats must have the USA Baseball decal as well as they are marked for Tee-Ball use only*
Helmets-The batting helmets must be affixed with the NOCSAE symbol, be free of cracks or other visible damage, and all of the internal padding must not be missing, tattered, torn or frayed. No stickers are permitted on the helmets, unless there is a letter of certification from the helmet manufacturer affirming the stickers are permitted to be affixed to the helmet. A C-Flap helmet is permitted as long as the C-Flap is from the same manufacturer as the helmet. Full cage face masks are REQUIRED by Winterport Little League for all athletes 10 and under.
Batting Gloves- Not required, but fully accepted if an athlete wants to use
